Founded to back the 2018 truce between President Uhuru Kenyatta and ODM leader Raila Odinga, the group has been visiting counties to rally the nation behind the handshake.

Speaking on Wednesday morning, the MP said that the bulk of the finances comes from member's contributions, and the remainder and other resources from well-wishers.

"As women, we do contribute and we also have well-wishers. Even now we are making contributions because we shall be touring Kitui County on Friday (Sisi kama wamama tunachanga na pia tuna well-wishers. Hata saa hii tunachanga maana Friday tunaingia Kitui)," she said.

Muhanda made the remarks during an interview on Radio Citizen on Wednesday morning.

She added that apart from politics, the group also bases its tours on developmental issues, including equipping locals with finances and other resources, to help them better their lives.

This, she said, is done using the affirmative action fund allocated to them by the national government, while other allies like governors help in matters venue and others.

"We have affirmative action fund which we use to supply developmental resources to Kenyans (Tuko na affirmative action fund tunazotumia kugawia wakenya vitu vya kujiendeleza)," she added.

Female politicians questioning the handshake have formed the rival Inua Mama Group, which has been engaging Embrace in verbal wars.
