Kisumu Governor Peter Anyang' Nyong'o on Wednesday announced the reorganization of his cabinet in a bid to ensure better service delivery.
The first time county boss fired three county executive committee members (CECs) and reshuffled the rest.
The changes were confirmed in a statement released to the media house on his behalf by Director of the Governor’s Press unit Aloyce Ager. Ager said that the changes take effect immediately.
“The CECs appointed in acting roles shall continue to hold those temporary roles alongside their substantive portfolios. The changes take effect immediately,” said Mr Ager, as quoted by Daily Nation.
The county boss fired County executives Richard Ogendo (Business, Co-operatives and Marketing), Thomas Ondijo (Roads) and Alice Moraa (Energy and Industrialisation) over different reasons.
In the restructuring, the governor transferred Finance and Economic Planning CEC Nerry Achar to the Energy and Industrialisation.
He named acting county secretary as George Omondi Okong'o to replace Achar in the finance docket.
Omondo, who is also his economic advisor is expected to be vetted before approval after his name was forward to the county assembly.
The governor appointed Education CEC John Obiero Ogone to act as CEC in the Finance docket while Physical Planning CEC Dickson Obungu as acting CEC for Roads.
The business docket has been filled by Agriculture CEC Gilchrist Okuom in acting capacity. The rest of the dockets were not affected in the reshuffle.
