The Director of Criminal Investigations (DCI) George Kinoti has claimed that he has been receiving anonymous calls following the arrest of government officials facing corruption-related charges.
Kinoti said that unknown persons have been threatening him to stop the arrests or else they will take unspecified action against him.
Kinoti, who spoke to Reuters on Friday, has, however, said that he will not relent in the quest to handle the suspects over corruption as long as he remains in power. He affirmed that he is ready to face those who want him to stop the arrests no matter what it will cost him at the end of the day.
“People might as well start preparing themselves because more arrests will be forthcoming… You cannot call me and stop me, you cannot stop me, you cant,” said Kinoti, as quoted by Citizen Digital.
He also lauded Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) Noordin Haji for cooperating with him in the war against the Vice. Kinoti said that Haji has proven to be a great friend as they seek to unmask multimillion sagas that have rocked the government in the recent past.
He reiterated that they will deal with those suspected of graft at the county and national level without any form of fear or favor as long as he remains in office following his appointment by President Uhuru Kenyatta.
The remarks come after Haji ordered for the arrest of Treasury Cabinet Secretary Henry Rotich over the loss of funds in the multimillion Arror-Kimwarer dam project.
