A Kisumu girl who scored 391 marks in the 2019 Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) has written an emotional suicide note addressed to her parents.
In the letter, the girl claims that she has caused a lot of problems to her parents but very soon they will be over.
“I know that I have always been a bad daughter to you and dad,” she says in the letter apparently addressed to her mother.
“I understand that it hurts so much to lose a loved one but you won’t bear any pain by losing me because I have always been the worst thing that ever happened to you,” the girl adds.
The 13-year-old girl sat for her KCPE exams at the Xaverian School.
She is supposed to join form one at the Asumbi Girls High School in Homabay County, next month.
Lucy Emilly Ombok who is the girl's mother said that she wrote the note due to their inability to foot her High School fees.
Form one school fees at Asumbi Girls is Sh75, 798.
"She is usually quite and wrote the note after realizing that she may miss form one due to lack of fees," said Lucy who resides in Nyalenda Estate.
Lucy and the girl's dad were operating stalls in Kisumu town before they were brought down following renovations at the Kisumu port.
"We need financial support for school fees and shopping to enable her to join school next month," the mother pleaded.
