Police in Likoni are investigating the death of a school girl, Rosalia Muchai, who died after she went missing for at least five months.
Likoni Police Commander Jane Munywoki said detectives will be looking into the cause of the girl's death, her real age and unknown man who was said to have spent time with her.
“There were also reports that there is a man who was with her. We are following all the leads before we come to any conclusion,” Ms Munywoki told Nation by phone.
Police report seen by Nation says the girl was a Form Two student at Jomvu Girls Secondary School.
She allegedly flew from their home in August during the holiday period.
The deceased friend cum salonist, Joan Jelimo, said she had known the girl for five months, and before her death, she was expecting her at the salon within Likoni.
Rosalia had told Jelimo she was 25 years old.
“I tried to reach her but calls were not going through and on Tuesday I decided to go visit her home so that I could tell her I would not be available to make her hair that day,” said Ms Jelimo
Jelimo found the deceased helpless at her home with no one to look after her.
She moved the sick girl to her home before she informed the deceased's mother about her daughter's sickens.
Rosalia on Wednesday was taken to a health facility where she was refereed to Likoni District Hospital.
Unfortunately, she died after arriving at the facility, just after she had reunited with the mother.
She had told Jelimo that she was suffering from stomach pains.
Jelimo and the deceased's mother recorded a statement at the Likoni Police Station, and according to the report, the girl was just 16.
Her body was moved to Coast General Hospital mortuary.
