Among what the Kenya Navy pulled out in their historic parade was twenty-one gun salutes that left Kenyans in screams.

The parade started off with speed boats that were running parallel to each other, in special formation, before the Kenya Navy Ship, Jasiri, concluded with firing the shots.

"The ships taking part in the Sail Past today will form a special formation in which all the ships and sailors will salute. The leading ship (Flag ship) will conduct a 21-Gun salute for the C-in-C). This will be the second Sail Past conducted by the Kenya Navy.#MashujaaDay," Kenya Defence Forces explained their parade in a tweet.

The parade shortly halted the Kenya Ferry Services operation to pave way for the Navy's vessels.

While the parade was appealing and properly conducted, not all Kenyans on Twitter were fully impressed.

Some Kenyans have taken issues with how the parade was conducted, and the type of boats and ships the Kenya Navy used.
