In an interview with Citizen TV on Monday, the leaders urged all the participants in the contest to maintain peace during this period.

The duo also said that the chaotic nature of the campaigns in Kibra is denying the voters the chance to choose their candidates of choice. Wanyonyi faulted the organizers of the campaigns saying that they need to consider the proximity of the venues to avoid cases of chaos.

“I take issue with the people who give permission to hold rallies. The rallies were hardly a kilometre apart. This is not a good thing in a politically charged area,” he said.

The remarks come after Amani National Congress (ANC) leader Musalia Mudavadi’s convoy was pelted stones.

Kioni also said that the individuals who pelted stones at Mudavadi’s convoy are in for a rude shock appealing for political tolerance during and after the campaign period.

“People who are stoned have a great future. People do not throw stones at those who not have good things,” he said.

Mudavadi expressed discontent after the incident.
