Leaders have continued to air their views following the dismissal of Mwangi Kiunjuri from Cabinet on Tuesday.
President Uhuru Kenyatta relieved off Kiunjuri in a move that came as a shocker given their previous close relationship.
However, Belgut MP Nelson Koech, a close ally of Dr William Ruto, President Uhuru Kenyatta set up the minister to fail.
According to him, the docket formerly held by Kiunjuri often witnessed delayed disbursements of the funds, thus leading to inefficiency.
"Kiunjuri was set up to fail from the onset. The cooperatives, marketing role and that of value addition had been transferred from his office to that of (Trade CS Peter) Munya," Koech said on Thursday.
He said the move "speaks volumes", given Munya is now the Agriculture minister.
During an interview at NTV early this week, Koech further said, "How did you expect him to perform with a cannibalised ministry?"
In a four-page statement issued shortly after his sacking, Kiunjuri told those celebrating his downfall that he was "going nowhere" and would react if provoked.
After omitting Kiunjuri's name, Uhuru said "life and Kenya must move on" without giving the reasons for his actions.
In recent weeks, Kiunjuri has been attending meetings organised by a team allied to the DP, despite the president's warning against politicking.
