This comes after Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko revealed that he nominated the late Kibra MP Ken Okoth’s alleged baby mama Anne Thumbi as an MCA following Okoth's request.

Speaking during an interview on Citizen TV on Tuesday, the senator said that political outfits often face endless challenges as far as nominations are concerned, adding that there is a need to revisit the conditions for nominations.

“I think we (political parties) need to engage our party members on which is the best way to nominate. We have always had challenges with our nomination processes,” he said.

Sonko caused a storm during the memorial service of the late lawmaker at the Moi Girls High School in Nairobi when he revealed that the late Okoth had a child with Thumbi.

He said that the family of the deceased is fully aware of the matter and urged the family members to ensure the child is recognised.

“Ken had a son with one of the nominated Nairobi MCAs by the name Ann Thumbi alias Anita. The two love birds did not hide the fact that they shared a son. Ken recognised and was there for his son as demonstrated by pictures and various documented correspondences,” said Sonko, as quoted by Citizen Digital.
