The Inua Mama movement created to push for the empowerment of women in the country descended on Garissa County on Friday in style.

In a video posted online, Women Reps who are part of the women empowerment movement are seen dancing to Somali music blaring from powerful speakers.

Women Reps Rehema Jaldesa, Anab Subow, Gladys Shollei and Alice Muthoni Wahome, staunch Deputy President Dr William Ruto allies, are seen dancing to the tune.

Other members of the movement who are in the county are nominated senator Millicent Omanga, Nyandarua Woman Rep Faith Gitau, and Nakuru Senator Susan Kihika.

It is made up of Jubilee Woman Reps widely seen to be behind the 2022 presidential ambitions of DP Ruto.

Political pundits see the movement as a response to the Embrace movement formed in support of the handshake between erstwhile political adversaries President Uhuru Kenyatta and veteran opposition and Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) leader Raila Odinga.

The Inua Mama movement woman reps arrived in Garissa County in a convoy of wailing SUVs as residents watched with bemusement.

In a post on Facebook, Senator Millicent Omanga said that the Inua Mama movement would be in Garissa to advocate for investment and capacity building for women.
