Taita Taveta Governor Granton Samboja has affirmed that his bid to dissolve the county government is unstoppable.
On Friday, the first-term governor said that he will ensure the county assembly is dissolved to end the stalemate existing between him and the MCAs.
The governor dismissed calls for dialogue saying that there is no reason to discuss with leaders who want to frustrate him as he seeks to transform the lives of the voters.
He noted that he has already collected signatures needed to dissolve the county government with immediate effect following the stalemate with the MCAs about the county's budget.
“Nothing can stop this process. At 38,000 signatures as of Monday this week and still going, this process is unstoppable,” Samboja said in an interview with a local daily.
The governor also revealed that he has received several calls from leaders asking him to change his mind but, he said that it is already too late.
Samboja said that he doubts the intentions of the MCAs after they threatened his leadership yet the voters had believed in him before they elected him into the current position.
He made the remarks days after he held a series of meetings with different leaders including opposition leader Raila Odinga, Wiper party leader Kalonzo Musyoka and President Uhuru Kenyatta.
