A section of Uasin Gishu gospel ministers has vowed to shoot down the BBI if it is championing for an expanded Executive.
Led by their chairman Bishop Wilson Kurui, they said Kenyans are already overburdened by taxes.
“As religious leaders from Uasin Gishu County, we are keen on the BBI report and we are waiting for it eagerly, he said adding "if they will come with a proposal to create more seats for some self-centred individuals, it will be dead on arrival because we won’t support it whatsoever."
He spoke to the press in Eldoret town on Thursday.
“The report should find ways of fighting poverty which has been the order of the day and ensuring that Kenyans are not overburdened. If that is what it will entail, we will support it 100 per cent,” opined Kurui.
He, however, warned politicians against politicising the Building Bridges Initiatives saying that it might divide Kenyans along tribal lines.
Kurui advised politicians to stay mum until the BBI report is presented to President Uhuru Kenyatta and comment about it.
He called on Kenyans to live peacefully and shun politicians who divide them along tribal lines.
