Due to this Ruto has embarked on early campaigns to from support for his 2022 bid.

Wambugu who spoke on K24's Punchline Sunday observed that the DP should trust that Uhuru will support him and focus on helping the president leave a legacy instead of engaging in early politics.

"DP Ruto doesn't believe that President Uhuru will support him, he has begun to have doubts that's why he is traveling the country engaging in politics," said Wambugu.

"After 2017, President Uhuru called us and assured us that the first four years he will be delivering his promises to Kenyans and ensure he leaves a legacy. The fifth tier, he will spend it 'selling' Ruto for the presidency," he added.

He noted that it's absurd for the DP to be engaging in politics this early yet there is more work that needs to be done.

"We have a President who has three years to go before we talk about what's is gonna happen in 2022, we need to get stuff done now so that we have something to sell in 2022," he said.
