Bahati Member of Parliament Kimani Ngunjiri has lashed out at Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party leader Raila Odinga after he asked Deputy President William Ruto to resign to allow investigations into the source of his wealth.
Ngunjiri termed Raila as a failed politician and predicted he will never become president just like his father the late Jaramogi Oginga Odinga.
Jaramogi, who was Kenya's first vice president, tried severally take over power but his attempts were thwarted by President's Jomo Kenyatta and Daniel Arap Moi.
"People should not be worried with Raila's statement, he has reached menopause politically. His father tried the same thing of wanting to be president even for one minute, it did not work, history repeats itself. People will decide," Ngunjiri tweeted on Saturday.
In a televised interview on Friday night, Raila asked the DP to step aside so he can be probed and the source of wealth be revealed.
“Which individual can have such money? You are bringing crowds and crowds of people each and every day slaughtering chicken and paying for their transport and giving them petty cash, what is the source of such cash?” he posed
The war of words between Raila and Ruto has lately intensified and political analysts have said it was all about the 2022 succession.
