Controversial lawyer Miguna Miguna has blasted Elgeyo Marakwet Senator Kipchumba Murkomen for showing interest into being a Chief Justice.
On Friday through his twitter account, Murkomen shared one of his pictures wearing an attire worn by High Court judges. He then captioned the picture with a two-word sentence: "One day!".
Murkomen's picture wearing a horsehair wig and a colourful gown attracted reactions from Kenyans.
Miguna responded to it by asking the Senate Majority Leader to take off the attire.
"Throw away that ugly and primitive colonial rag from your head. Liberate yourself, Onesmus Kipchumba Murkomen," he tweeted.
More Kenyans came out to react, with some encouraging him to go for his dreams while others rebuked him.
Murkomen is a Law Bachelor’s degree holder.
However, his political inclination could be a point of contention since being a Chief Justice needs someone who has no political sides.
Murkomen is a supporter of Deputy President William Ruto. He has on several occasions declared his support for the DP's 2022 presidential ambitions.
In the country's history, no politician has ever been appointed to the Chief Justice position.
