Police in Machakos County have issued a warning to strip clubs operating in the area saying they face closure.
Machakos County Commander Karanja Muiruri said there is an increase of strip clubs in Machakos adding that many young girls are being lured into the business.
Muiruri further said that his office has received information that some night clubs are using strippers to attract more clients adding that the police will conduct their investigations and raid clubs that are using strippers.
He said the raids will be conducted in clubs in Machakos town to ensure the residents are not exposed to such social ills and that the illegal business does not thrive.
“It had come to our attention that those perpetuating ‘dancing naked’ shows target middle-aged men with deep pockets,” said Muiruri.
The County Commander said they have arrested four women suspected to be strippers during a raid over the weekend in Machakos.
Muiruri said that the four who were only dressed in their bras and panties while dancing at Club Wizard will be arraigned in court to answer to charges of promoting pornography.
“Officers conducted an operation at Club Wizard where there were complains that strippers were performing. The operation led to the arrest,” said Muiruri.
