The world on Saturday woke up to shocking news of the death of a renowned businessman from Tanzania Ali Mufuruki.
The tycoon died while in South Africa after a short illness.
Among the people who eulogised the business warrior is a renowned media personality Julie Gichuru who addressed the late billionaire as a teacher to the fortunate who were able to pass through his hands.
"Today a legend rests, not just in peace but also in greatness. Thank you for believing in so many, thank you for mentoring so many, thank you for mapping a better path for Africa. You did not have to take the mantle of leadership, but you did. For so many who do not know who you are and what you did, we ALI Fellows must commit to a impact analysis; we must show the world that it is possible for one person to make a huge difference; to step up and stretch; to believe and inspire. Thank you and goodbye for now my friend & teacher, I know I will see you again. Rest in greatness Ali," Gichuru's Tuesday Facebook post read.
Ali Mufuruki was among Tanzania's richest men and had many reputable companies under his name.
Some of the companies are InfoTech Limited and ALI East Africa.
He had a good working record since he was once a board member of the Nation Media Group, Vodacom Limited of Tanzania and Wananchi Group Holdings.
Julie Gichuru was an associate in Africa Leadership Initiative (ALI) which was determined to lighten the leadership of Africa as a continent.
