On Tuesday, Maendeleo Chap Chap leader urged Chief Justice to reduce case processing period to three months or less.

According to Mutua, corruption cases should be fast-tracked which he believes will see lost funds return to its intended purpose. He congratulated the three bodies, DPP, DCI, and EACC for their efforts so far.

He claimed the speeding up of cases will assist as suspects won't have time to tamper with evidence.

"I, therefore, urge the Chief Justice to consider having corruption cases heard on a daily basis including weekends so that they are concluded within a period of 3 months from the date of taking a plea. In the same way, elections petitions are heard continuously and with a set period, so should corruption cases. That way the accused are afforded justice and the people of Kenya also receive justice."Mutua said through a press statement

Furthermore, Mutua who has shown his interest in the presidential seat noted the Judiciary need to deploy more officers. On the current Arror and Kimarer dam scandal, Mutua urged Judiciary to complete the case by October 31st of this year.

"As a people, we expect that this current case involving the Arror and Kimwarer Dams will be concluded by October 31st of this year and the other ongoing cases of NYS s, ga etc can be concluded by end of August, 2,19," he added.
