ODM Director of Communications Philip Etale has said that they are ready to face anyone in the Kibra parliamentary seat race.
Etale noted that Mariga's candidature was not going to make them scared as they had everything to do that can make them win.
He was responding to Elgeyo Marakwet Senator Kipchumba Murkomen who had claimed that Jubilee Party candidate McDonald Mariga's woes were being fronted by those fearing his candidature.
Murkomen said Mariga was a legit voter and candidate for Kibra by-elections.
''Mariga as per the Constitution and the established law is qualified to be a candidate in the Kibra by elections. Those who are scared of competition are putting unnecessary roadblocks on his path. That was not a RED CARD and VAR will prove us right!'' tweeted Murkomen.
In response to the tweet, Etale said; ''Nobody is scared of Mariga. (Stop threats please) Wacheni vitisho jameni.'
IEBC declined to approve Mariga's candidature for the Kibra mini-polls after his details were not found in the 2017 register of voters.
The Jubilee party has 7 days to appeal the decision.
If the appeal goes through, Mariga will face ODM's Imran Okoth and Eliud Owalo of ANC who are among the 23 candidates approved to vie for the seat.
The by-elections are slated for November 7.
