Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) chairman John Mbadi has said that the party is backing an all-inclusive form of government.
Speaking during an interview with NTV on Tuesday, Mbadi said that the winner takes it all system of governance is not ideal for Kenyans. He argued that the minority groups have been marginalised because of the current system, adding that change is inevitable as leaders continue with Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) rallies across the country.
He argued that the Kenyans want a government that they can be part of and not left out of the same because of different political ideologies.
"What we want is a government structure that is inclusive that Kenyans can associate with," he said.
Speaking on the same platform, Makueni Senator Mutula Kilonzo Junior said that he is hopeful the BBI report will be completed before the end of February. The lawmaker argued that the report needs to be adopted and implemented as fast as possible so that the nation can address other issues of critical magnitude.
"I have proposed that since we have good lawyers, by February, we should have a document that can go for public discourse," he argued.
Mutula also opposed the governors' push for a three-tier government.
