Senate Majority Leader has hit back at renowned lawyer Nelson Havi for appearing to take delight in the tear-gassing of Kandara MP Alice Wahome.
"The State has never been the citizen’s friend even when you are part of it. If in doubt, study the origin of State or check what these Wajinga Nyinyi‘victims’ were doing and saying in 2017 and 2018. ^DoS" Nelson Havi had written earlier in the day.
In a reply, Murkomen lashed out at the high profile lawyer whom he accused of mocking the Law Society of Kenya (LSK) members as Wahome is a member of the legal fraternity by virtue of being a lawyer.
"Hon. Alice is a senior member of the bar. A Court order has been ignored. You want to be President LSK. You are mocking members. Wacha Kieleweke, " the Elgeyo Marakwet Senator stated.
Wahome had teargas lobbed at her as she was addressing members of the press on Friday night to protest the arrest of the Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria.
Kuria is in police custody over charges of assault pressed by a woman who claims he punched her at the Royal Media Services headquarters.
