Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko was on Wednesday ferried to Milimani Law Courts in an ambulance from Kenyatta National Hospital.
According to the Star, Sonko was escorted by heavily armed police officers from DCI department from the facility where he has been for that last 30 hours.
The Nairobi boss will know his bail application fate on Wednesday afternoon when anti-corruption court is set to make a ruling.
Magistrate Douglas Ogoti will deliver the ruling. The governor is being represented by 12 lawyers among them Senators Kipchumba Murkomen and Mutula Kilonzo Jr.
Sonko was arrested on Friday last week in Voi and was later locked up at a police station in Lari, Kiambu County, a move aimed at keeping him away from his supporters.
Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission accuses Sonko of money laundering and illegal procurement amounting to Sh357 million.
However, Sonko denied the allegations, promising a tough battle in court against EACC team.
“…They didn’t have to arrest me. Let the DPP or EACC tell me which court we are going to as soon as possible and I will be there on time,” he said.
"I want to confidently state from the onset that I am more than ready for the lawful course that will help us know the truth. As your leader and an elected governor, l believe in total accountability, especially when it comes to the management of public resources.
He was admitted at Kenyatta National Hospital on Monday night after feeling unwell in Kamiti Maximum Prison where he was remanded.
