Former KTN news anchor Esther Arunga has been sentenced to 10 months on parole.
An Australian court, Queensland court on Thursday gave the sentence in a case that has taken so many years. The TV queen had been accused of being an accessory to the murder of their three-year-old son Sinclair Timberlake.
Appearing before the court on Tuesday, Arunga has revealed that she lied about the cause of her son's death to protect her husband, Quincy Timberlake.
Evidence showed that the child died from blunt force trauma on his abdomen, which was caused by his father.
According to the Australian Associated Press, Crown Prosecutor Danny Boyle stated that Esther Arunga had called for emergency services when the incidence happened.
However, she lied to them that their son had tripped and fallen off the stairs.
An autopsy on the child's body showed that the kid had died from a severe blunt force, like that of a punch or stamp or similar from a grown person. The injuries found on him were not similar to those from a fall.
Arunga later changed her narrative after her husband Timberlake was admitted severally to a mental health facility.
She came out to narrate step by step what happened on the night of June 17, 2014, when their child, Sinclair was murdered by her father.
