A 25-year-old man in Kakamega County is nursing serious injuries after his wife ascended on him with hot tea for demanding ugali.

Daniel Omollo of Umoja village in Lugari location Kakamega County was on Thursday evening scalded by his wife with hot tea following a wrangle over food.

According to Mr Omollo's neighbours, he came home on Thursday evening and found his wife Carline Nekesa preparing tea.

He then demanded his wife to switch the cooking and instead prepare for him ugali.

His demand for ugali sparked argument that eventually ended with the wife Ms Nekesa burning the man with the tea she was preparing.

It was not clear if Nekesa was preparing evening tea for the family or if she was to serve it as supper.

Mr Omollo sustained severe burns on his neck and chest.

Police have said that after Ms Nekesa committed the disturbing act, she fled from her home, leaving her husband writing in pain and agony.

Concerned neighbours took the injured Omollo to a nearby Lugari Forest Dispensary for medication.

Lugari Location Chief Evans Adavaji told Citizen Digital that Ms Nekesa is still into hiding.
