The North Mugirango MP Hon Joash Nyamoko has told off some school principals to stop giving him guidelines on how he will distribute buses in the region.
Speaking on Monday at Ikonge during a meeting with some secondary schools principals, he said that some principals have gone to a step whereby they want their schools to be given the buses by privilege. He said that there are factors that must be considered so as to transparency to prevail.
He pointed out factors such as academic performance and the number of students in the school.
"I want to tell some principals with me here that for me to give a school bus to your school I must consider some factors because I need transparency to prevail, I will not give out buses to some schools that some principals are urging me because I must consider the factors of performance and also the number of students because it will not be possible to give a bus to a school with few students and abandon a school with a lot of students," said Hon Nyamoko.
He also went ahead to say that still, people needed to be informed that corruption is not an option, they should not always rely on shortcuts so as to get something.
"I will like to urge my people that they should not always relie on shortcuts so us to gain, always let's practices truthfullness and transparency because being told to give a bus to a school without considering those factors is like practising corruption. Let's be very careful my people," added Nyamoko.
