Machakos Governor Dr Alfred Mutua has refuted allegations that he is under investigations by the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC).
Speaking during an interview with K24 on Sunday, Mutua affirmed that he is a clean man.
He said that claims of misusing county resources are baseless. The second term governor insisted that he has been a responsible leader, adding that he has never pocketed funds meant for the general public.
"I'm not under investigation by the Ethics and Anti Corruption Office," he said.
The county boss said that those accusing him of stealing public funds should present evidence to the EACC to allow them to investigate him.
"People accuse me to have stolen monies, can they come and prove that I’ve done that," he said.
On the issue of Ukambani leadership, Mutua said that time has come for Former Vice President Stephen Kalonzo Musyoka to leave the leadership mantle for a younger and visionary leader. He noted that the time for Kalonzo to abandon the political fight for power has come.
"Ukambani people have previously been viewing Kalonzo Musyoka as the only option. He has served well, but it's time to hand over the reins of leadership. Current challenges require fresh approaches, he is just not the man for this job," he said.
Mutua has affirmed that he will go for the nation's top seat when that time comes.
