KTN show host Tony Gachoka has been arrested after he caused an altercation at the Ukunda Airstrip on Wednesday evening.
Confirming the incident, Msambweni Sub-County police boss Nehemiah Bitok said the security officers were compelled to arrest the television personality after he resisted being search.
He also said that it later emerged that Gachoka was intoxicated and he wanted to board the plane with alcoholic drinks.
The police also alluded that he started hauling insults at the security team when he was asked to present his bag for a routine check.
The attempts of the officers to persuade him so that they could frisk him proved futile. The officers had no choice but to arrest him after the situation ran out of control.
"He came to the airport drunk and when he was requested for his bag to searched he resisted and started to abuse the staff at the airport," Mr Bitok said, as quoted by Daily Nation.The Airport manager was compelled to calm down the television presenter and asked him to book a flight for Thursday following a standoff that temporarily interrupted with the business at the airport. Gachoka was not ready to hear any story from the officers at the Airstrip and insisted on boarding his flight back to Nairobi. He has booked a flight with a Silverstone airplane.
