A Kisumu Court on Tuesday granted bond to three women accused of defiling a 16-year-old boy.
The three were arraigned before Nyando Law Courts Senior Principal Magistrate Patrick Olengo, who heard that they allegedly forced the boy to engage in sexual activity with them.
The indecent act was allegedly committed in Nyakatch area within Kisumu County in October, after the women reportedly lured the boy in question to work for them.
The boy's mother told the court that the suspects repeatedly defiled the boy, after deploying him to cut charcoal wood for them.
“They used to lure my child to cut charcoal wood, and instead of paying him, defiled him,” she said, adding that her family has also been receiving death threats over the matter.
She noted that she has since reported the threats to the police, with Nyakatch OCPD Jonathan Koech confirming the same.
The court heard that the women also touched the boy indecently, contrary to section 8(1) of the sexual offences act.
The women pleaded not guilty to the charges, and were released on a Sh100,000 bond each, pending hearing of the case on March 16, 2020.
However, one of them failed to raise the required bond, and, therefore, spent another night in police custody.
