Some churches in Trans Mara have since written to the Nairobi Cosmopolitan Conference (NCC), accusing their local conferences of neglecting them, and want to stop being under them.

The churches, including the Oloiborosioto Church wants to break from the South Kenya Conference and South East Conference to join the recently formed NCC.

“We are unhappy with the way we are being managed at the two local conferences, hence the move to delink ourselves,” reads a letter written by the church clerk Ruth Malai.

The push to exit was confirmed by the church elder Meshak Kipteng, who said that the campaign to dissociate the church from the conferences had been in progress for months.

“We have written over five letters, but they have been ignored. We have not had a pastor for over a year now," he said, according to the Standard on Wednesday.

The church has been dealing with internal fights lately, most of the disagreements being linked to corruption, nepotism and tribalism within its churches.

This has resulted in factions at the top level , with one accusing the leadership of engaging in breaking Kenyan laws, nepotism, misuse of the police and looting property.

The group wants an overhaul of the church leadership. The kept affected one has been the Nairobi Central Church, where fights between the NCC and the Central Kenya Conference (CKC) have openly manifested themselves.
