Kenya Airports Authority (KAA) Managing Director Jonny Andersen has announced his retirement.  Andersen, who is also the Chief Executive Officer of the firm is set to exit on September 30.

In a statement released to the media houses,  KAA said that Andersonopted not to renew his contract upon the expiry of his tenure in office.

Confirming his exit, KAA Chairperson Isaac Awuondo said that Andersen has made clear his plans to leave the office. 

He also thanked him for his dedication and commitment in serving the people of Kenya during the time he took care of the affairs of the authority.

“Jonny brought good knowledge of the industry and an ability to forge consensus among stakeholders. He has served with distinction and I wish him well in his future endeavors,” said KAA Chairperson Isaac Awuondo, as quoted by Standard.

The chairperson also praised him for creating strong foundation for the future of the authority as well as strengthening the operations as well as improving the customer care services. 

He also said that it will be tough to replace the outgoing CEO once he hands over power to his successor.

Andersen took over the office in November 2016. He will be remembered for the changes he made at the Authority as he seek better service delivery.
