President Uhuru Kenyatta welcomed other Heads of States into the country for the 9th African Caribbean and Pacific (ACP) Group of States summit for a two days meeting that ended on Tuesday at Kenyatta International Convention Centre (KICC), Nairobi.
The summit which is meant to bring together various countries was also attended by various leaders from the country.
During the summit, Uhuru assured that he will work to make sure the goals of the bloc are met.
''President Uhuru Kenyatta has assured that during the three-year tenure as Chair of the African Caribbean and Pacific (ACP) Group of States, Kenya will work to promote and protect the interests of the bloc,'' said State House.
According to Uhuru, he will do this by prioritizing the integration of ACP states into the global economy.
More so, he will make sure that the new partnership agreement between the bloc and the European Union is finished.
Other leaders who attended the summit were encouraged to ensure that the things discussed during the summit are put into practice so that the goals of the summit are fulfilled.
After the meeting, Uhuru met few leaders before they could return to their countries.
''President Uhuru Kenyatta today held separate talks with President Felix Tshisekedi of the Democratic Republic of Congo, Jamaican Prime Minister @AndrewHolnessJM and the Vice President of Cuba,'' said State House.
