Nyaribari Masaba Member of Parliament Ezekiel Machogu has praised Kisii Deputy Governor Joash Maangi terming him a transparent, honest and visionary leader who has stood with his boss Governor James Ongwae throughout since they took an oath of office in 2013.
The vocal legislator hinted that he is ready to work with Maangi in 2022.
"I want to state clearly that Maangi has supported his boss since 2013. He deserves to succeed Governor Ongwae in 2022. I will not have any problem joining hands with him (Maangi) ahead of the 2022 polls to ensure the people of Kisii are served well," noted Machogu.
According to the MP, Maangi is among the few development-oriented leaders from Kisii region who should be supported.
The lawmaker also warned local politicians against dirty politics aimed at tarnishing the deputy governor's name.
"Maangi is open and ready to work with all leaders irrespective of their political affiliation. His close association with Deputy President William Ruto should not make us worry because a leader who works with others brings development," he noted.
The MP was speaking on Saturday at Light Bearers SDA Church, Riakeana, Kiamokama Ward, Nyaribari Masaba Constituency where he had hosted Maangi for a fundraiser towards the development of the church.
