Suna East MP Junet Mohamed was among various leaders who attended the burial of Ngumbao Jola, the uncle to Ganda MCA-elect Reuben Katana Mwamure.
Jola got killed during chaos at Reuben's home a day before the Ganda by elections.
Chaos that erupted we're between Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) fraction and those supporting Independent candidate Abdul Omar led by Malindi MP Aisha Jumwa.
In his tweet on Saturday, Junet Mohamed, the Minority Whip asked Kenyans to avoid violence during politics.
''Mourning with the people of Ganda Ward, Malindi Constituency, following the demise of Ngumbao Jola who was shot dead at the eve of the recent by-election.
"The late Jola was uncle to Ganda MCA-elect Reuben Katana Mwamure (ODM). Political violence should have no place in Kenya,'' said Junet Mohamed.
Jola's death has been termed as a political assassination since he was mistakenly shot. According to a source, the bullet that shot Jola had been aimed at Reuben Katana Mwamure.
Reuben won the Ganda Ward seat in Malindi, Kilifi County with a whooping 4,177 votes ahead of Abdul Omar, who garnered 2,331 votes.
This is not the first time a person is being killed during political chaos. However, leaders have always come out to ask their supporters and candidates to carry out peaceful campaigns and elections.
