Daily Nation reports that the male student and roommate have since gone into hiding after he committed the heinous act on the campus hostels on Wednesday night.

The incident allegedly occurred a few minutes past 9 p.m. at the Tatton hostel inside the campus. A source revealed that the student had threatened the victim with a knife if she dared report the matter to the administration or police.

The source also said that the female students decided to seek refuge at the security offices after the incident left her in deep shock.

“The female student is traumatized and is currently seeking refuge at the university main campus security offices,” said a student.

Njoro Sub-County Police Commander Mohammed Huka has, however, said that he is yet to receive an official report on the matter.

“The Officer Commanding Njoro Police Station has not received such information,” said Mr Huka.

He also asked the students not to hesitate to report such incidents to the police for speedy probe. The incident has left some of the students in panic as investigations continue.
