Suba North Member of Parliament Millie Odhiambo now wants former Kakamega senator Bonny Khalwale arrested over violence in Kibra.
Speaking on Sunday during a thanksgiving rally in Kibra, the outspoken Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) legislator said that Khalwale was the person who provoked the violence.
"And I want to tell the minister for interior, for internal security, can you immediately arrest Bonny Khalwale. He is the one bringing violence here (Yeye ndio alileta violence hapa Kibra), " she said. (1:43-1:57)
Bonny Khalwale was pictured carrying stones on Thursday during the by-election.
This is after reports emerged that he had been harassed by goons in Kibra.
He said that carrying the stones was an act of self-defence.
ODM has come under blistering criticism from the deputy president Dr William Ruto for the violence that was witnessed in some areas in the Kibra constituency during the course of the by-election.
According to the DP, the goons that engaged in violence were sponsored by former prime minister Raila Odinga, a charge that ODM has strongly rejected.
During the by-election, Bonny Khalwale acted as one of the agents of the governing Jubilee Party candidate former Harambee Stars player McDonald Mariga.
The by-election, which was seen as a 2022 dress rehearsal, was won by ODM candidate Imran Okoth who was officially declared the victor on Friday.
