Sossion took issue with the Education CS's contention that his ministry should not take centre stage when it comes to security in schools in the country.

"I wish to correct the cabinet secretary. In terms of the security in schools, you really cannot abdicate as a cabinet secretary," Sossion told Magoha.

The Education CS fired back strongly, telling the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) nominated MP point black that the Ministry of Education would not take centre stage in operational areas and would leave them to the Ministry of Interior and Coordination of National Government.

"Where it is an operational area and where the Ministry of Interior has decided that it is an operational area, don't take me there, I shall not go there Mr Sossion," Prof Magoha said.

This is not the first time that the two are openly trading fire.

Sossion and Prof Magoha have not seen eye to eye on the Competence-Based Curriculum (CBC) that Knut has vehemently opposed with the Ministry of Education maintaining that nothing will stop it from being rolled out.
