Mudavadi held a meeting with Kenyans at Springfield City, Massachusetts. During the meeting, he discussed a wide range of issues.

"Had a very productive town hall meeting at Springfield City, Massachusetts. Kenyans in the diaspora have a critical role in shaping the country’s future through transfer of knowledge, remittances and participating in the political process," he said.

Mudavadi also reiterated his stand on the war against graft. He affirmed that he will not change his tune on the war against the vice. He also said that the war against graft will ensure there is job creation and lowered cost of living.

"Corruption is rife, unemployment is high and our national debt has skyrocketed, but there is hope. We can turn it around, we can do something to create jobs, we can reduce our public debt to manageable levels, we can do it by making sure that the right leadership is in place," he said.

He further said that the amendment of the constitution is inevitable before Jubilee leaves power. He noted that the creation of positions in the government will not change anything about the country.

"As we seek to amend the constitution, we must first of all ask ourselves; is it to serve the interests of the country? Or to create positions for political elite? All we need is to think straight, think right and do what is right. Let us pull together," he added.
