Kenyans on social media have expressed mixed reactions after the Dedan Kimathi Foundation announced that the grave of the late freedom fighter Dedan Kimathi has been found.
Whereas a section of the Kenyans online praised the foundation together with the government for the dedication in locating the grave 62 years later, some of them criticized the government for the long duration taken to find the grave.
Those who criticised the government claimed it took too long to locate the grave given the advancement in technology and availability of equipment that can locate buried bodies and objects.
They further claimed that most of the families of the freedom fighters had been ignored.
A number of the Kenyans on Twitter, on the other hand, expressed doubts over the authenticity of the reports that the body that was located was indeed that of Kimathi.
They suggested a DNA test to be conducted so as to clear the doubts.
A group of the Kenyans on Twitter (KOT), nonetheless, urged Kenyans to put aside the criticism and the doubts and instead focus on celebrating the late freedom fighter by giving him a decent burial.
