Machakos Governor Dr. Alfred Mutua is one of the respected leaders in the eastern region.
Despite being born in humble family, he has achieved a lot of things in life. One of his greatest achievements in his life was when he was appointed as a government spokesman by the former president Mwai Kibaki. But now, do you know that Governor Mutua is a martial art Taekwondo?
In one of the exclusive interviews with Jeff Koinange in 2012, Mutua revealed that at his early age, he once attended a karate and Taekwondo class. He also said that during his entire time in the USA he did temple kungfu a softer type of martial art whereby they were taught how to map human being's bodies.
“When I was about nine years old, there was somebody who taught us short of kind karate. And short kind karate is a hard form of karate where you could punch whoop! Whoop! Whoop! It’s Japanese and after that, I did taekwondo which is Korean, taekwondo you use more of kicking and flexibility of longer legs. But later on in life when I was in the USA studying, I did temple kung-fu which is more of the softer arts of the martial arts. It’s got hard and soft. You look at chi where they were told on how to map out the body” he said
The former government spokesman was speaking out to Kenyans and also to Machakos people at large explaining to them why he wanted to be the Machakos county boss. Since taking over as a governor in 2013, Mutua has done amazing things in Machakos County.
Now he has made up his mind to the country’s top seat in 2022.
