Political Dismas Mokua now says that the ongoing Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) regional forums are nothing but political rallies organized by ODM party leader Raila Odinga.
On Saturday, the third edition of the consultative forums was held in Mombasa, where area governors were allowed to table a list of changes they want in the constitution.
Mokua argues that the forums are a wastage of time, and are being used by ODM to counter Deputy President William Ruto's presidential campaigns, which he says are ongoing.
He says that though the DP has been campaigning for the last two years, its very likely that the ODM strategy will erase his popularity among Kenyans within two months, using BBI.
"Raila (Odinga) is using the ODM meetings, masquerading as BBI, to kill the investment of the Deputy President. What the Deputy President has done over the 2 years, he (Raila) is going to neutralize it in the next two months," he said in an interview on KTN News on Sunday.
He said that so far, the BBI has managed to suck in Ruto's allies and will be effective against the DP and in favour of the former Prime Minister.
"The Tanga Tanga team has been swallowed in BBI. The BBI train is simply ODM rallies, and it's a response to the campaigns the DP has been doing for the last two years," he said.
On Saturday, a number of Ruto's allies, led by Senate Majority boss Kipchumba Murkomen and Senate Majority Whip Susan Kihika attended the BBI forum, also attended by Raila.
Initially, the Ruto camp had rejected the initiative, terming it one of Raila's plots to secure power through the back door.
