Four CSs who include; Peter Munya (Trade), Joe Mucheru (ICT), Sicily Kariuki (Health) and James Macharia (Transport), have been accused of holding a secret meeting at Hotel La Mada, where the DP was allegedly their topic of discussion.

However, when they appeared at the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) headquarters on Monday, Munya, Mucheru and Kariuki, admitted to having met at La Mada but denied they were planning to eliminate Ruto.

The trio, who were accompanied by a section of Principal Secretaries and parastatal heads also dragged to the claims, said the meeting was to discuss development in Mount Kenya region.

“These are very serious allegations especially coming from a person of the stature of a DP occupying an extremely powerful and important office in the land. I would expect somebody in that office to do a proper investigation before making unsubstantiated and wild allegations of that nature,” said Munya on behalf of the group.

Reacting to the issue, Nyamabe asked the CSs to step aside after they were linked to the alleged plot to kill Ruto.

“Let them step aside as investigations take shape. They have lost the confidence of the DP who is the president’s principal assistant,” the legislator said.

Speaking during a press conference at Parliament Buildings on Wednesday, Nyamabe said the ministers should tell the DCI what was the agenda of their meeting and asked them to stop demanding for Ruto's statement.

“An admission was made that clearly night meetings were held by the said Cabinet Secretaries. Why ask the DP then to record a statement?” the MP asked.
