According to Governor Jackson Mandago, farmers from Kenya particularly Uasin Gishu County will export products such as tea, spices, chilli, coffee, and flowers.

In exchange, they will supply farm machinery at an affordable price.

“As a county, we are honoured to be visited by Belarus ambassador to Kenya Dmitry Kuptel. We have agreed that the two countries will have an exchange of farming technology, trade, and export of cash crops to Belarus,” said Mandago.

He spoke to the press after hosting Kuptel and the Kenya National Chambers of Commerce officials on Tuesday where he reiterated that Belarus will soon establish plant machinery in Kenya.

“We will also benefit in mechanization and using modern technology in farming, agro-processing and also expose us to the international market where we can easily buy or sell our products without any problem,” added Mandago.

Mandago, however, called on farmers to commercialize farming for them to get more profits and look for alternative markets to sell their products instead of always depending on the government.

Kuptel added that they agreed to support farmers establish direct links between each other.
