Kenya Urban Roads Authority (KURA) has indicated that six Nairobi roads will be closed on Sunday, December 1 2019, over the Grand Nairobi Bike race.
‘’Traffic disruption: This is to notify the general public that traffic along Langa’ata Riad, Aerodrome Road, Lower Hill Road, Uhuru Highway, Haile Selassie Avenue and Bunyala Raod will be affected due to the Grand Nairobi Bike Race happening on Sunday 1st December 2019 as from 8:00 Am till 12:20 Pm. Motorists are advised to use alternative routes,’’ read a statement from KURA on Monday.
This will be the first professional cycling race to take place in the country.
The race was organised in a bid to drum support and even create awareness on tree planting.
The race's organisers pointed out that the main race will cover a distance of 70 km while the black mamba will cover a distance of 35km
