This comes amid predictions that the bill is on the verge of hitting the rock bottom, due to its massive rejection in the assemblies which have discussed and ruled on it so far.

Party Secretary-General Frederick Okango says that the party will be promoting the bill in the county, a day after party leader Ekuru Aukot insisted that the push is still on course.

"Today at 10 am Punguza Mizigo Bill 2019 team will be at Meru County Assembly. This is the 27th County Assembly we are visiting to promote the Bill," Okango wrote on Twitter.

Among its contents is a proposal to reduce elective representation, which the party says will aid in saving a huge portion of the funds currently being used in sustaining the seats.

Okango hailed the bill as the amendment that will fully consider the interest of Kenyans by putting them first, adding that under it, all Kenyans will be treated equally.

"Punguza Mizigo puts people first. It recognizes that a Constitution is the will of the majority; not a minority whether elected or not," he added.

Among the politicians who have predicted doom for the bill is Deputy President William Ruto who a fortnight ago claimed that its exclusion of Kenyans is the ailment killing it.
