The Member of Parliament for Garissa Township Aden Duale has termed the recent corruption scandals witnessed in the country as shameful and sad.

Speaking in an interview with Citizen TV, the outspoken MP pointed out that it was wrong for the money that has been appropriated to projects that would benefit the citizens to go in people's pockets.

Duale who also doubles up as the leader of the Majority in the parliament was commenting on the corruption scandal surrounding the construction of the Kimwarer and Arror dams.

"It is very very ashamed to be a Kenyan when the many resources the trillions that we appropriate in parliament, instead of going to improve the lives of the people of Kenya,  it goes to people's pockets. It is very very sad," Duale stated

Duale, however, went ahead to commend the Offices of the Director of Public Prosecution (ODPP), the  Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC), the Director of Criminal Investigation (DCI) and the Auditor General for committing to the fight against corruption int he country.

The legislator went ahead to state that there must be results in the eradication of corruption.

According to Duale, corruption must be fought collectively by all the three arms of the government with full support from all the institutions created by the constitution.
