Writing on Twitter on Monday, Kipkorir held the view that President Uhuru Kenyatta, the speaker of the National Assembly Justin Muturi and Chief Justice David Maraga are co-equals.

In his tweet, the renowned lawyer took issue with the frustrations that the judiciary was facing in the hands of the executive and the National Assembly that have seen significant budgetary cuts.

He said that by frustrating the Judiciary, the country was being destroyed.

"President Uhuru Kenyatta, Chief Justice David Maraga & National Assembly Speaker David Maraga are co-equals though the President is primus inter pares... In his #StateofTheJudiciciary has documented the mistreatment & humiliation visited on him .. We are destroying our Country," Kipkorir tweeted

The Judiciary has long decried the budgetary cuts that have been ratified by the National Assembly, saying that the cuts will make it difficult for it to function smoothly.

CJ Maraga has long petitioned the legislature to approve an increase in the budgetary allocations to the judiciary so that the courts can dispense judicial duties without problems as envisaged in the Kenyan constitution.

The judiciary continues to grapple with the long-standing problem of backlog of cases that it has partly pinned down to inadequate resources.
