Emily Awuor, a resident of Kiambio Estate near Eastleigh in Nairobi county is a happy woman after giving birth to triplets as the world celebrated the birth of Jesus Christ.
Awuor gave birth at the Pumwani Maternity Hospital in Nairobi on Wednesday, the same facility where another woman gave birth to twins on the same day.
Speaking to the Citizen Digital on Thursday, she expressed her happiness, terming her successful delivery a blessing for her and her husband.
"I thank God for this beautiful gift to me and my husband on this wonderful day,” Awuor said.
The hospital's Medical Superintendent said that 20 more babies were born at the facility.
A total of 62 babies were delivered in various hospitals around the city on Christmas day. 21 of them were delivered at the Mbagathi Hospital, 16 others at Mama Lucy Kibaki Hospital and 25 at the Pumwani Maternity.
Nairobi County Governor Mike Sonko congratulated the mothers, expressing his readiness to help them until they leave the hospitals.
In Kirinyaga, the County Director of Health George Karoki said they recorded 10 births. 7 newborns were delivered at the Kerugoya Refferal Hospital and three others at the Kimbimbi and Sagana Sub County facilities.
