Former National Assembly Deputy Speaker Farah Maalim has heaped praises on former President Mwai Kibaki.
Speaking during an interview with NTV AM Live on Tuesday, Maalim said Kibaki was the best president Kenya has ever had since independence.
He said Kibaki initiated a series of projects in the country, adding that he never engaged in sideshows at the expense of development.
“Kibaki was such a gentleman, I don’t think we’ll get a president like him in a long time,” he said.
During the interview, he recounted how Raila was humiliated during the reign of retired President Daniel Moi, arguing that Raila had one of the toughest times of his career during the tenure of Moi.
“They picked Raila like a bag of maize and threw him into a Land Rover, when I looked on both sides I was alone, I walked straight to the police officer and said get out of my way,” he added.
