Kandara Member of Parliament Alice Wahome now claims that plans are in place to tame a number of Mt Kenya politicians allied to Deputy President William Ruto.
This comes only hours after complaints by Kiharu MP Ndindi Nyoro, that police officers wanted to arrest him while leaving Royal Media studios in Nairobi on Sunday night.
Wahome, who was also present, now says that this is an attempted plan by some forces opposed to their dalliance with Ruto to victimize them as punishment.
On Monday, she claimed that the plot recently saw a number of top state officials, including Interior Principal Secretary Karanja Kibicho, meet in Murang'a to plot their downfall, in a bid to tame Ruto's influence in Mt Kenya.
"I am aware that there was a meeting that took place a week ago in Murang'a in the home of a senior businessman. There were several other people including the Principle Secretary interior. The discussion was around how we can be finished," she said in an interview with NTV.
She added that both Nyoro and her, have been identified as the source of Ruto's growing power and support in the region ahead of his 2022 presidential bid.
Consequently, she alleged, the plan is to clip their influence with the intent to reduce Ruto's growing popularity in the region.
"The reference was that the Deputy President has become very strong politically that he has too many followers…their discussion was around myself and Ndindi Nyoro, that we must be cut to size," she added.
