A plane ferrying the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) team on Tuesday was forced to change its route to Lamu.
This is after it emerged that the Hola Airstrip where it was expected to land is waterlogged.
The pilot of the plane made the dramatic decision after noticing that the airstrip was unfit for landing before arrival.
The team, which is tasked with collecting views from members of the public across the countries, has embarked on a mission to tour several countries following a directive from President Uhuru Kenyatta as he seeks to leave behind a legacy when before he completes his second and final term in power.
According to the team, it had planned to tour various counties before the end of the scheduled period.
Some of the areas the team is expected to pitch its tent include Taita-Taveta, Bungoma, Lamu, Trans Nzoia, Kilifi, Kwale and West Pokot.The countrywide tours come at time when President Kenyatta has affirmed that his government is committed to achieving the Big Four Agenda.
The commander is chief of the armed forces had maintained that his government will ensure all the promises he made are fulfilled before he leaves power.
